It's BBQ season in DC!
Does Washington DC have a long rooted tradition for barbecue?
This is an unresolved debate but it sure enjoys the barbecue culture these days. Whether a classic chopped meat on bread or deep-seated tradition, ultimately it is about enjoying quality food in great company.
And yes, though DC is traditionally a serious city, it also knows how to enjoy a good time. Smokers gather every June for a regional contest on Pennsylvania Avenue. Styles and techniques of professionals oppose each other while the crowd enjoy a good bite.
